This luxury men’s watch store was designed to create a unique shopping experience that allows clients to relax and linger in a speakeasy atmosphere, with reclaimed materials and dark colors highlighting the jewelry inside.

Our task was to design a luxury men’s watch store for an established family jewelry store brand in Raleigh, NC. They desired a unique shopping experience that allowed their clients to relax, linger and enjoy a glass of whisky while listening to a vintage record player. The store pays homage to the family patriarch’s history of getting his start in the area as a record store and bike repair shop, with the record player and vintage bikes being featured prominently.

Our client was working with a small, narrow footprint, and we were challenged to plan many watch and accessory displays within the space. The program included several jewelry displays, liquor bar, liquor lockers, a concealed entrance to a back private room, and connection into their main jewelry store. The statement bar draws the customer through the space and reinforces their brand aesthetic and speakeasy feel. Eclectic lounge seating in the center of the store beckons guests to enjoy the atmosphere. The dark exposed ceiling, reclaimed wood, exposed brick, and metal elements create a unique layered experience. We worked with the client to select local authentic reclaimed wood for the flooring, bar, and custom liquor locker. Darker materials with a focus on thoughtful jewelry lighting creates a dramatic atmosphere that highlights the jewelry inside. Dark wall paneling at the storefront ties into the exterior materials and composition, giving the entry to the store a classic, polished look.
