As one of the world’s leading financial services providers, this Confidential Financial Client decided it was time to expand their technology hub in Research Triangle Park to recruit and retain top talent and serve as a benchmark in the area. The design of the new phase included adding a second building on campus (205,000 sf) as well as new site amenities to create a campus loop connecting the staff with the various indoor and outdoor amenities. Taking cues from the existing building on site and adjacent preserved wetland, the project strives to be a “frame to nature” and integrate the employee’s lifestyle with this inherited feature.

The interiors of this new building support this Confidential Financial Client’s organizational changes and new ways of working. With their embrace of Smart Working, employees have a variety of working environments to choose from, depending on their needs. The free-address, activity-based space fosters better collaboration and focused work, while creating more efficiency and flexibility. New space types include Project Zones, Quiet Zones & Business Gardens that were intentionally designed with natural patterns and motifs to reflect a biophilic design. Each of the three workplace floors has a central social hub that was intentionally positioned on the floor to frame back to nature as well as the existing building to create increased campus connectivity. The ground floor of this building includes modern amenities such as a full service cafeteria, dining facility, outdoor terrace and conference center to support staff from both buildings on campus.
