300 S. Brevard

Stream Realty acquired 300 S Brevard, a 15-story building adjacent to the light rail in Uptown Charlotte originally built in 1994, with the intent to transform the original interiors to sleek, modern environments that resonate with the buildings prime location. The project scope for our team was to provide day two repositioning for the lobby, with connectivity in mind. The existing space was disorienting, barren, and didn’t reflect the culture of the occupants who pass through every day. Our design created a sense of place throughout its public space.
The design team was inspired by the building’s location. Its proximity to public transportation and the connectivity this provides to surrounding neighborhoods inspired a story. Taking these themes into the interior, the final design features commissioned murals by local artists, regionally-manufactured furniture, custom sculptural furniture pieces from felled trees in City Center, beautiful wool rugs, decorative LED lighting, and a living green wall that echoes the many greenways that connect the larger fabric of Charlotte.
