Tuggle Duggins Law Firm relocated from a traditional interior to a new downtown Greensboro building with views of the adjacent Grasshoppers Baseball Park. Our design team was challenged with creating space with a progressive style to appeal to younger clients, and remain relevant to older, long-term clientele. TD requested maximizing natural light and addressing security while keeping the “front facing” client area inviting and limiting access to staff areas.
The Lobby, with adjacent conference rooms, takes advantage of large windows and ballpark views. The open staircase with natural wood and steel creates a contemporary connection from one floor to the next. We gave a nod to the ball park with 5 large, globe pendants, in the stairwell. Small group seating and an informal meeting table with stools create welcoming areas for clients and staff. In the elevator lobbies, large ceramic wall tile panels feature enlarged woven textile patterns which represent the history of textile production among Greensboro mills. Restrooms and small coffee areas are accessed of the two lobbies, with secure doors to the office / staff spaces.
The conference rooms are light filled with privacy film on the glass walls. Transitional furnishings and a neutral color scheme throughout the office utilizes subtle patterns, textures and walnut wood to showcase craftsmanship – a feature appealing to their clientele and a connection to the ballpark. Accent colors are used in the seating, original artwork, and stronger hues were used in the Break Room on accent wall, wall tile, seating and artwork.
