HEALTHCARE WINNER 1
Firm: CJMW Architecture
Project Name: Public Health Center

The 108,000 SF public health center was designed to provide efficient, community-oriented healthcare in a cost effective, patient-centric manner. The design team worked closely with the owner to address the needs and functions of 16 departments and clinics that make up this County Health Department.
Rich earth tones are used on the interior. Intensely colored soffits, such as the dark terracotta color used over the central registration desk, highlight primary patient staff interface areas.
Finishes are durable and will stand up to heavy use. Limited budget and small housekeeping staff also drove specifying low maintenance materials and finishes. Examples include: Impact- and stain-resistant porcelain tile walls in the atrium and main corridors, Flooring that does not require waxing, Corian surfaces at patient service areas and sink locations, Painted walls that are easy to touch up.
