Project Name: Food Lion Corporate Office

Firm: Little Diversified Architectural Consulting

The client, one of the largest supermarket chains in the country, has undergone a huge transformation in recent years and required a new space to reflect this growth.  

Project Goals:

• This growth prompted a need for a headquarters expansion that would ultimately reinforce the core beliefs and values of the Fortune “500” leader with “small town” roots.

• The design team was pleased to take full advantage of the voluminous vertical space within the warehouse, and a mezzanine was created to connect the space visually and utilize height of the space to stack program.

Project Highlights:

• The façade of the building was re-skinned with a focus on glass to allow for daylight to penetrate the environment and create an exuberant, light-filled interior.

• Various wood textures, warm color palettes, interior glass walls, mezzanine flooring and exposed ceilings integrated through the space begin to further reinforce the warm and friendly culture, as well as define a sense of community and connection.
