The Carolinas Chapter of IIDA encourages all members to become advocates for interior design through education and engagement. It is important that designers educate themselves and the general public about what interior design is, and why interior designers have an important role in securing the health, safety, and welfare of the interior built environment. Interior designers should also stay engaged with the industry and maintain a high level of knowledge and credentials, to provide value to the consumer and mentorship to their peers. Finally, our Chapter supports the Association’s goal of legal recognition for interior design in both North and South Carolina. We ask that our members to familiarize themselves with the current laws, efforts of the Coalitions, and both the professional and financial benefits to registration of interior designers.
